Creativity. Spirituality. Philosophy.

The driving force behind Youthemia is in the three key areas of creativity, spirituality and philosophy. We aim to provide services that embody aspects of all of these things in practical ways that move young people towards their own inner resources and set them up for a lifetime of resilience, harmony and success.

Creativity is often confused with being artistic. Artistic people are creative by nature because they create things, but the true essence of creativity lies in doing things differently. It means being inventive and imaginative, having ingenuity and resourcefulness. For young people in today’s rapidly changing social and economic environment, creativity and innovation are hugely important to personal fulfillment and financial success.

What does creativity mean?

A lot of people baulk at the word ‘spiritual’. They think it means religion, devotion or worship. It doesn’t. It means waking up.

When you develop an understanding of who you really are, when you pick apart your programming and detach yourself from other people’s thoughts about who they think you should be, what they think you should be doing, saying, eating, drinking, watching, playing, buying, consuming…etc. when you get wise to the world you are living in, you become aware, and you start to wake up. This is very powerful.

You begin to realise that you have infinite potential, beyond any limited thinking, beyond the collective mindset of ‘out there’, beyond peer pressure and social media and gaming and mindless scrolling, you have the potential to create your own amazing life experience.

By getting back to the source of who you really are, when you start to give of yourself and make a positive contribution to the world just by doing what you love and what comes naturally to you, you will start to find true, meaningful purpose and fulfillment. You will wake up. You will transform.

This is what spirituality is all about.

What does spirituality mean?

Youthemia takes inspiration from Stoic philosophers such as Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus. Their teachings are highly relevant even today and, as well as offering a moral code to live by that promotes your own mental health and well-being, they give you valuable tools to apply in any situation to ensure you don’t get angry, lose your rag, make a fool of yourself, get upset and hurt, or act emotionally in ways you may regret later. You decide how you will respond to life. You choose your own thoughts and behaviours. Life isn’t something out there happening to you. Philosophy helps you understand this.
